We'll recognize these shifts from print to online advertising by maintaining and possibly even expanding advertising options that will be more relevant and connected to your interests. In this fast-changing business, modest digital subscriptions and advertising work together to cover the cost of collecting local news and information, and to produce numerous products around the clock. I live out of state but have family in your coverage area. Why should I have to pay? If you're checking our site only once in a while, you probably won't be asked to pay, because we allow limited free visits to the site. Why should I have to pay? If you read obituaries every day, it seems fair to ask for a modest subscription fee - just like our daily newspaper subscribers who pay to read these notices. And it's the same fee we ask from folks who look at only one other section of the website, such as entertainment listings, sports, or politics. You're not being singled out. By the way, if you no longer live in our coverage area, you can get a Courier e-edition that is an exact replica of the newspaper, including the obituaries. I don't go online and just want the paper delivered to my house. Do you have a subscription package for that? All home delivery subscription packages now include digital access. But digital access isn't limited to you. A home delivery subscriber can share a login with others in your household, just like you share the newspaper with family or friends. For example, if there are three people in your family, you all can share one account. The overall limit is five computers or devices. Please keep in mind, everyone who has access to a shared account also has the same access to account information and privileges, including the ability to comment in online forums under the same screen name. Can I share my login with my friends and others? We discourage sharing too widely. Sharing login information gives users access to all aspects of your subscriber account, including billing information. Also, reader comments will be tied to your account, so you may want to be careful about who can access your login information. Finally, if more than five devices are logged in at the same time, one or more will be denied access to digital products, possibly creating confusion about whether the digital subscription is really working. I'm having problems activating my full access subscription. Who can I talk to? Please call 800-798-1730 between 5:00 a.m. And 5:30 p.m. Mountain time Monday through Friday, and 5:00 a.m. To noon on Saturday, Sundays and holidays. Overview Today we will take a closer look on S/4HANA Content Activation. It’s the third part of the guide, so I highly encourage you to read two previous posts: If you want to follow today’s post it is very important that you have already prepared client in S/4HANA system (detailed guide described in ). Just before starting I would like to share two more links: SAP Notes implementation Our first activity today is to implement necessary notes referred in Release Information Note. Some of the notes may require additional manual steps which we have to execute. Basic settings To avoid errors and increase activation speed we disable Activation Links in BC Sets. Enter t-code SCPR20, go to System Settings and select Do Not Create. Output management for S/4HANA We need to import three XML files from note in transaction BRF+. Setting up S/4HANA Attachment Services Enter t-code OAC0 and create new entry: Now enable service ‘contentserver’ and enter client number, system user and password in SICF: In SPRO go to Cross Application Components -> Document Management -> Additional Settings – Simplification -> Attachment Service – Storage Repository Activation and create new entry: Modify record in table SDOKPHCL for PH_CLASS = SOFFPHIO by setting the flag in CAT_MAINT column. Go to t-code SKPR08 and change the category for SOFFPHIO: And finally maintain entries in TSOPE through SM30: Importing the latest version of S/4HANA Content In the past Best Practices content were delivered through SAP Portal as two ZIP files: Solution file and Data files. Nowadays it looks differently – SAP releases transport request valid for particular SPS, which has to be imported into system. Links to transport are included in respective to release. After downloading and unpacking go to STMS and import them to your system: Missing entries in TM160M Due to an error in table /FTI/TWHITEL01 during client copy one of the tables was not replicated. We need to follow note and insert missing entries. Firstly create and execute report Z160MIS and then use /FTI/CL_COPY to copy the missing entries. Now we can check that table TM160M has data: Create users for activation To activate S/4HANA we need three users: a) Two technical users: SAP_SYSTEM and SAP_LMADM with SAP_ALL profile b) One dialog user with SAP_ALL profile. Please fill the Defaults tab according to the following screen: Maintain profile parameters Another activity we need to perform is to adjust profile parameters to avoid memory dumps. Enable GUI scripting The last step before entering Solution Builder is to enable GUI Scripting: Activation Finally we are ready to start S/4HANA Content Activation. Enter Solution Builder with transaction code /n/SMB/BBI At the moment there is no Solution defined. In order to create one, we need to import Solution and Installation files: Choose solution you would like to activate. During this guide we are going to work on US version. Then import Installation Data – when all files are uploaded we get confirmation: During the installation we didn’t implement any additional language. In our system only English and German are available, therefore we need to remove all activation content for languages that are not part of our system. Go to Building Block Builder and modify language key for V_TVAS_V_TVAS_BJF.TXT and SMBA0_V_TAUUM_CLI_J01_OP.TXT (IT -> I; LT -> X; DE -> D; EN -> E; FR ->F). Run report /SMB/REMOVE_NOTINST_LANG_IMG and select your solution. During next step we will run Implementation Assistant and execute S/4HANA Content Activation. It’s excellent moment to do a full system backup. Go to Solution Builder and follow to Implementation Assistant. To start activation, click SHIFT+F7. After confirming the dialog box, activation begins! Don’t worry if you run into errors. Some of them are expected. Bellow I will try to show issues I encountered and how did I solve them. If you can’t find solution bellow, you can also check, where he also deals with content activation. 1) Checking VERTEX integration We didn’t configure VERTEX integration; therefore, we need to perform manual step. Follow the guide attached to note – Activation guidance without VERTEX integration. 2) Define Release Procedure for Purchase Orders – Set Criterias (/SMB99/CL20N_PO_O001_J01) Restart the activation. Error won’t appear again. 3) Create Material Master – Work Scheduling View ( /SMB99/MM01_ALL_VIEWS_O015_J01) Missing entry in table OPJ9 – add record according to following screen and continue with activation When the activation process is finished we get confirmation: And that’s all for today. I hope you like it. Next week we are going to finish setup of Fiori Apps and we will do some preliminary system checks. ![]() ![]() How you upgraded though? Some people may sell their old iPhone, or use it as a glorified iPod touch. Others will want to give it to a family member on a prepaid calling plan. ![]() Personally, I use mine as an emergency phone/Internet device. Here’s the how and why. AT&T (s att) offers a contract-free, pay-as-you-go plan called the which works much like a calling card where you pay in advance for phone minutes as well as data. Currently you can buy a $100 calling card and the credit is good for a year. Other small denominations are available with shorter expiration dates. Although AT&T doesn’t officially support pay-as-you-go plans like GoPhone for the iPhone, you can buy a GoPhone, and simply take the SIM from the GoPhone (which is usually a cheap ‘dumb’ phone) and put it in your old iPhone. This will enable you to use the iPhone as a phone, but even if you add the GoPhone data plan, you can’t use data on the old iPhone because the phone’s internal settings are not set to allow this. I learned this the hard way. Over-the-Air Provisioning However, there is a workaround for this problem that can be done easily and without any jailbreaking or other “phone hacking.” You can do this by taking advantage of a legitimate, built-in part of the iPhone OS called “over-the-air provisioning.” Over-the-air provisioning allows you to change certain otherwise inaccessible phone settings (such as the data network). You can use this process with an original iPhone, iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS. According to the site, the process works with iPhone OS 2.x, 3.x, and 4.x. I tested it with an iPhone 3G running iPhone OS 3.1.3. Here’s how I enabled a GoPhone data plan with my iPhone 3G. The Steps Step 1: Open Safari on the iPhone that you wish to use with the GoPhone data plan and navigate to and then tap “Continue” Step 2: Tap the “Custom APN” button Step 3: Select your carrier. You will see a pop-up menu with settings for carriers all over the world. Since you are using a GoPhone in the U.S., you will need to navigate down to “US – AT&T.” Once you select AT&T, the other fields will automatically get filled in with the proper data. Step 4: Tap the “Create Profile” button. This will generate your custom APN profile and download it to your phone. Step 5: A screen will pop up on your phone informing you about the new profile and asking if you want to install it. Go ahead and tap “Install” and then “Replace” in the subsequent dialog Step 6: You should see a “Profile Installed” screen. This means your new profile has been installed successfully To test your data plan (note this will use some of your prepaid account), you’ll need to turn off Wi-Fi and confirm you are on the AT&T network (look for the the Edge or 3G text on the upper left corner of the screen). Launch Safari and navigate to a favorite web site. ![]() The initial connection time might take a few extra moments, but you should see the website load. If this doesn’t work, you might need to reboot the phone for the new profile to fully take effect. Returning your phone to previous settings is easy. Simply open the Settings app on the phone, tap “General” and scroll to the bottom. You will see a “Profile” setting which you can tap to view the details of the installed profile, and there is also a red “Remove” button which will allow you to delete the profile and return your phone’s APN settings to the default. As a side note, this same process works for other carriers around the world. While this tutorial is written for U.S. GoPhone users, if you are in another country with a SIM from another carrier, you should be able to use these same steps to change the APN for your non-AT&T carrier. However, your phone will have to be either already compatible with the carrier of your choice or unlocked. Sumyunguy I would recommend over the GoPhone sim. It is a prepaid service that uses the Tmobile towers. $40 for unlimited talk/text $50 for unlimited talk/text + 100MB of data $60 for unlimited talk/text + Unlimited data Only drawback on the Data would be that you were stuck with only EDGE speeds because of the different radio bands between tmobile and the iphone radio. I have an original iPhone (with original sim) and not being used. I bought a cheap GoPhone (AT&T). I removed the GoPhone sim and placed it in the iPhone. I went to AT&T website to activate the sim. I entered the sim number and it asked for the IMEI number I entered the one one the iPhone screen, not the one on the GoPhone box. The iPhone said I must connect to iTunes. I can’t get passed activation screen in iTunes. Several questions: how do you get passed the activation screen in iTunes? Does the iPhone have to be jail broken? AT&T website to activate (you enter the GoPhone sim, but which IMEI # do you enter? GoPhone or the one on the iPhone screen). David I’m currently jailbroken on an iPhone 2G, but since 3.1.x have been having wifi reception problems, making my device all but useless. This seems like a good, inexpensive way to go legal. Question is, when do I do these steps? If I do a Restore, and un-jailbreak, I’ll wind up back at the Activate Account screen. It seems like there, without an AT&T account, I’d be handcuffed, so to speak. Does installing a physical SIM get me past that screen? And then from that point I’d be able to use wifi to get to the APN Changer site? My wife and I just bought a used 2012 Town & Country. It has Sirius XM built in, and we were able to enjoy some of the 2-week free trial they had last month. ![]() We're interested in activating a subscription, but I'm told by friends that Sirius is like an island market -- you can haggle on pricing. Does anyone have experience with Sirius, specifically activating a subscription for a new(er) vehicle? I like the idea of the annual pass (which also included internet radio) -- I just don't like the idea of $199. Quote from 1337tard: It's just an idea, but if you have a smartphone with a decent data plan and an auxilary port in your car, you can always use pandora radio. It's free besides advertisements which you can pay $36 a year to get rid of. There rarely is an advertisement, maybe one every 5 songs. How do I activate a SiriusXM trial in a vehicle? ![]() I personally never turned on sirius after the first day of a trial, i always use pandora. Thanks for the idea. It does have an aux port, but I'd be concerned about data use on my phone doing something like that (I don't have unlimited data). I've been reading on some sites that you can just called Sirius and ask for a deal and they usually have one to offer. I might try that. In the meantime, if anyone else has any suggestions, I'm all ears! $199 is just the base price.you have to add in the taxes and music royalty fees! I have 2 Sirius radios (my wife pays those and never remembers to cancel). I have XM in my car and have never paid full price. I'm usually honest with them - I have 3 cars and 2 portable radios with Sirius. Why would I pay for XM in one of the cars when I can just move the radio? Yes, it's a slight hassle to deal with adapters and cables, but not enough to pay full price for a year when I only drive the car half the time. They usually offer me either a 3 month deal or something around 1/2 price for the entire year. I think my last year came out to $100-110 - right around $8-9 per month. Since I already have the radio, I think the service is worth $8-9 per month. Their prices have only gone up - I guess it was $12 per month with free on-line streaming, now it is $14.50 with no on-line (extra $3.50) and now that it is Sirius and XM, they have different packages with different programming. The XM package actually has several commercial radio stations.and I believe all of the talk radio stations have commercials. I thought the whole point of paying for radio was to avoid the commercials? And don't even get me started on the annoying DJ part.yet I still pay for the service, so I guess I'm the sucker! But you are basically correct - just call and ask for a deal. Tell them you caught the end of the free trial and the service is nice, but not sure that it's worth $200 per year. I am on what they are calling promotional rate: 6 months for $25 (ends up being 27.44 after taxes). I got this rate by letting the paid subscription expire. Within one month, there is at least one email a week asking me to 'come back' and sign up at that rate. The catch is that I have to call before the end of the 6 month period and CANCEL. They will not, most likely, be able to renew at that rate again and instead offer something else but I stand my ground and cancel. Yes, I end up being w/o radio for few weeks but the emails with the promotional offer (6 for $25) will come. It has worked for me twice already and I plan on doing exactly the same thing come February. I have an MSDN subscription and I've installed Visio 2013.
